In a year of unprecedented things, we thought we’d add one more -- the unprecedented generosity and support of the London community as shown this past weekend during the Business Cares Food Drive.
Despite -- or perhaps as a result of the need generated by -- the pandemic, Londoners came out in droves and opened their hearts and wallets in support of the people and organizations that benefit from the London Food Bank.
This year’s Grocery Store weekend collected 140,000 pounds’ worth of food -- a 22 per cent increase from the previous year.
This is a phenomenal start, but the need still remains. We thank everyone who has donated or plans to donate. And we encourage you to support the cause if you’re able. If you’d like to donate, you can do so on-line on the Business Cares website.
And if you want to know what 140,000 pounds' worth of food looks like, Mark Kupi, operations manager, automation and robotics division, over at JMP Solutions provided us with some photos of his warehouse after this weekend's efforts!
